Our hatchlings soaked up the sunshine this week with joyful outings and sensory-rich adventures—each one filled with laughter, discovery, and development.

The warm weather took us on beautiful outdoor journeys—from giggles in a rainbow tunnel to exploring the garden’s water play area, complete with fountains, colourful ice cubes, and lots of bubbly fun. At the Highwalk, our babies watched fish shimmer in the pond before enjoying snacks surrounded by nature and the sounds of the city.
Cooling off with sensory ice play was a highlight. Frozen lemon and lime slices offered a refreshing way to explore textures and temperature, while the babies splashed and stomped with excitement.
We also celebrated a heartfelt farewell for our friend Abigail with a cheerful fruit party—a sweet moment of friendship and smiles.
Our cultural learning continued with a hands-on taste of Poland, as the children shaped pierogi from playdough, sparking conversation and imagination. Then we turned to Russia, decorating our matryoshka dolls with bold colours and traditional flair.
Miss Molly brought the sea to life again with calming songs like Slippery Fish and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, paired with sensory fun through bubbles and sea-themed play. It was a perfect end to a week of connection, movement, and wonder.
Thanks for being part of another beautiful week with us!
Blue Dragons Newsletter
A Week of Movement, Mindfulness, and Multicultural Magic
This week, the Blue Dragons explored the world through art, culture, language, and play—all with joy and curiosity.
If you’re wondering what makes our learning so enriching, come take a peek inside. Book a visit today and see the Blue Dragons in action!
We began with a circle-time discussion about Russian nesting dolls (Matryoshka). The children were fascinated by the way each doll fit into the next and loved the colourful patterns. This hands-on moment sparked great conversations about family, traditions, and size concepts.
Our week continued outdoors with a mini adventure near the Museum of London. The children played with colourful pinwheels, laughing as they spun in the breeze. It was a joyful way to talk about wind, weather, and movement in the fresh air.
As part of our exciting theme on Slavic People and Eastern Europe, the Blue Dragon class explored the mysterious Black Sea! —painting swirling waters and sticking seaweed, and fish onto our ocean scenes. Alongside this, we explored Mandarin words for fish (鱼, Yú) and octopus (章鱼, Zhāngyú), bringing language learning into our art.
Miss Molly led us through a calming mindfulness session, singing Slippery Fish, popping bubbles, and watching glowing stars on the ceiling. It was a magical time to slow down and feel peaceful.
Our Sporty Minis session introduced traffic light colours with cones, helping children learn when to stop, go, or slow down. A final cone-collecting race brought smiles and energy to an already exciting day.
Thanks for joining us on another week of creativity, calm, and cross-cultural learning!

A Week of Culture, Curiosity, and Discovery
This week was full of hands-on learning, cultural adventures, and exciting discoveries across the Dragon Flight class!

We kicked things off in the kitchen, where children made Eastern European potato pancakes—peeling, mixing, and watching them cook to golden perfection. It was a delicious way to learn about cultural foods and cooking steps.
Our phonics time brought the /a/ sound to life with the chant “Ants on my arm, a-a-a.” Everyone joined in, tapping along and building sound awareness through play.
Outdoors, a visit to the pond sparked curiosity as we observed ducks and talked about nature, animals, and habitats, encouraging questions and thoughtful conversation.
In yoga with Miss Molly, the children chose animal cards and moved like turtles, cats, and more, supporting emotional balance and body awareness through playful movement.
The fossil dig was a hit! Little palaeontologists uncovered “fossils” in chalk blocks, sharpening fine motor skills and feeding their love of science and history.
Our sporty minis session used a traffic light game to teach movement, listening, and basic road safety—run on green, stop on red, slow on yellow!
For art, we crafted Latvian belts using shapes, stampers, and heat transfer to explore patterns, culture, and creativity.
A magical storytime with Lucy Sparkles brought books to life with music and drama, enhancing listening, imagination, and expression.
We wrapped up the week with an exciting visit to the London Transport Museum. The children explored real buses and trains and learned how travel has changed over time, linking fun with history and problem-solving.
Thanks for joining us on another wonderful week of exploration and growth!
