Regional Education – Discovering Rangoli Art
This month, we launched our new regional theme focusing on India and South Asia. As part of this exciting journey, we introduced the children to Rangoli—a traditional Indian art form known for its intricate patterns and vibrant colours. The children enjoyed designing and painting their own Rangoli artworks, developing their creativity and cultural awareness. This engaging activity is part of our wider creative arts programme, which encourages self-expression while exploring global cultures through hands-on learning.
Cultural Festivals – Easter, VE Day & Baby Chicks
We had a joyful celebration this week! The children were especially excited to witness the hatching of baby chicks. Alongside our Easter-themed activities, we also marked VE Day by learning about historical terms and exploring the importance of Winston Churchill’s famous victory speech. To deepen our understanding, we created our own commemorative medals to honour the heroes of World War II. This hands-on experience helped the children reflect on bravery and sacrifice while enhancing their historical knowledge in a thoughtful and engaging way. Celebrating events like VE Day is part of our commitment to international cultural observances, helping children understand global history and shared values through meaningful activities.

Specialist Teacher Session – Sporty Minis
During our Sporty Minis session, the children played tennis and explored different techniques to hit the ball. These fun, interactive games helped develop their coordination and teamwork skills as they passed the ball to one another and worked together. These sessions are part of our Sporty Minis programme, designed to develop physical confidence, coordination, and a love for movement through playful outdoor learning.
Literacy & Mandarin – From Egg to Hen
It was moving day for our baby chicks! We started by preparing their new home with softwood shavings, then carefully placed their food and water inside. One by one, the children helped gently move the chicks to their new space, where they eagerly began to explore. Through this activity, we learned about the chicken life cycle—from egg to chick, and finally to hen. Activities like this support early vocabulary development and are a core part of our language and literacy education in the EYFS framework.
