A Joyful Week of Language, Culture, and Movement
This week was all about discovery and playful expression. From French animals to Slavic crowns, our little ones embraced every moment with curiosity and joy.
If you're curious about what makes our nursery so special, we’d love to show you around. Book a visit today to see the magic in action.
Our French session introduced animal names like le chat, le chien, and la vache. With puppets, songs, and bright images, the babies responded with smiles and gestures as they explored new sounds.
To learn about Hungary, we sponge-painted bears using brown paint—an activity inspired by the wildlife found in Hungarian forests. We also created Hungarian flags using red, white, and green strips, which helped develop fine motor skills and early cultural awareness.
The week continued with Slavic flower crowns. Little hands glued colourful paper flowers to make bright, festive headpieces, connecting to a tradition that celebrates nature and heritage.
In Sporty Minis, the babies explored rugby balls—bouncing, throwing, and balancing them through cone challenges. It was a fun way to build strength and coordination.
Miss Molly’s session took us under the sea. Using music, scarves, bubbles, and soft lights, the babies practiced gentle movement and calming exercises, ending the week with smiles and stillness.
Thank you for being part of another special week. We look forward to more learning, laughter, and little milestones next time

A Week of Landmarks, Languages, and Summer Discovery
From exploring family words in Mandarin to creating butterfly gardens, this week was full of wonder, cultural learning, and summertime fun.
If you're new to Hatching Dragons, come see what makes our learning so special. Book a visit today and experience it for yourself.
We began the week learning Mandarin words for family members—like grandparents, brothers, and sisters. Children proudly built sentences about their own families, using new vocabulary with growing confidence.
Phonics got an ocean twist as we explored letters in sand trays using fingers and lolly sticks. Phonics games with beanbags helped strengthen sound recognition through play.
Our cultural focus led us across Eastern Europe. We created 3D versions of Romanian castles and admired the bright curves of St. Basil’s Cathedral, learning about shapes and architecture along the way. The journey continued with Slavic flower crowns, which children designed using felt, tissue paper, and card, blending fine motor skills with cultural creativity.
The summer sun brought more outdoor adventures. From gardening in warm weather to cooling off with water play, the children made the most of our outdoor space—and even picked some ripe raspberries!
In STEAM, we explored the butterfly life cycle by observing caterpillars transform into butterflies. The children then made a butterfly garden using fresh flowers and herbs, connecting science to the world around them.
Miss Molly’s yoga focused on sea animals like turtles and whales. Children moved through playful poses while learning control, focus, and balance. Sporty Minis began training for Sports Day with games that involved teamwork, listening, and healthy competition.
It’s been a week full of creativity, connection, and summertime smiles. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
