A Good School with a Glowing Ofsted Report

Introduction

Our wonderful school in Canada Water has recently received an Ofsted inspection – the result of which we, as a team, are pretty chuffed about! We’re proud that the report recognises Hatching Dragons’ ability to provide a Good standard of education plus countless opportunities for each and every one of our children. It is excellent that the official document also highlights how our dragons always have a great attitude towards learning – all whilst under the supervision of a super-team who all have a clear understanding on how to keep them safe. The full report can be found here, however, we thought it would be useful to summarise the key points made about our school below.

Quality of Education

Here at Hatching Dragons, we promise to deliver a high quality of education in order for you to receive the best possible value from our services. The report notes that “children’s communication and language are promoted well” at Hatching Dragons as “Staff provide a range of activities to support children to meet their next steps in development.” We’re pretty certain that this is down to the fact that “Staff receive training and professional development opportunities, which has had a positive impact on them delivering a good curriculum.”

Behaviour and Attitudes

Our children are at the heart of everything we do. Resultantly, you, as a parent, will be pleased to know that the report not only highlighted that our children are “keen and energetic to learn”, but they are also “well behaved, calm and respectful towards their friends”. As we teach the importance of various Chinese values throughout the year, such as ‘孝 Respect’ and ‘义 Doing Right’, our brilliant children managed to “recall the importance of being kind, gentle and sharing” which was said, by Ofsted, to have helped to “create a calm and nurturing environment” within our school.

Our Super-Team

At Hatching Dragons, “Staff act as good role models for the children”. It is imperative that the team provides an environment where your child feels safe to learn, grow and experiment. In this environment, “new children develop secure attachments with their key person as settling in systems are effective. Children demonstrate that they feel secure and safe. They are happy and form close bonds with staff”. Our super-team will always go the extra mile to meet the needs of every child which is why we also ensure that “Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their families are very well supported” at our schools.

Our Parents

The Hatching Dragons community is influenced significantly, and rightfully, by our families – particularly parents like yourself. This is why the Hatching Dragons team have “built strong relationships with parents” as the feedback we receive from mums and dads is invaluable and continuously aids us in progressing towards our goal of providing an outstanding service overall. We’re therefore delighted that the report found that “Parents are very happy with the communication and support provided by the key person about their children’s development. They are impressed by the opportunity their children have to learn a different language, such as Mandarin.”

Our Plans

The garden space of our Canada water school is soon to be undergoing a revamp! Our dragons will benefit from brand new facilities ranging from a new climbing frame, dedicated art space, performance area, mud kitchen and horticultural corners. This, along with the recent appointment of Hannah McGoohan, the Founding Educational Director of nFamily Club, the UK’s most successful nursery chain in terms of Outstandings achieved, will ensure Hatching Dragons achieve our goal of providing outstanding quality for both yourself and your child.
