This week in our French session, children practiced greetings using a big mirror, confidently saying “Bonjour” to their friends. They also enjoyed reading a delightful book about a ladybug in French, repeating key phrases to enhance their language skills. Activities like these support early communication skills and are a key part of our language and literacy curriculum. It was a fun and interactive way to explore the French language and culture!
The children travelled to India through arts and design this week, they used vibrant paints and soft Pom poms to design their own Indian elephants. They experimented with bright colours and textures, creating unique and colourful artworks that celebrated India’s rich cultural tradition. The children enjoyed expressing their creativity and practicing fine motor skills while making their beautiful elephants. It was a joyful and colourful activity that helped them learn about Indian art in a fun and engaging way!

This week, children enjoyed exploring the henna station with brown paint and earbuds as part of our India-themed learning activity. They eagerly created intricate hand designs, learning about traditional Indian art and culture. Friends shared smiles and laughter as they admired each other's beautiful patterns, fostering teamwork and creativity. Hands-on art projects like these are part of our creative arts programme help's them connect with India's rich heritage in a fun and engaging way!
To explore India further, the children had fun participating in a craft activity where they glued and stuck pictures of famous Indian landmarks onto paper. As they worked, they learned about iconic sites like the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, and India Gate, gaining a better understanding of India’s rich cultural heritage. The children enjoyed sharing ideas and collaborating with their friends, creating colourful displays that celebrated India’s beautiful architecture and history!Throughout the week, we enjoyed a relaxing yoga sessions with peaceful Indian music. The children practiced gentle stretches and mindful breathing, while learning fun Hindi words like "Namaste," meaning hello, and "Shanti," meaning peace. We also explored the five principles of yoga, such as kindness and balance. The children loved the calming activities, feeling relaxed and connected as they learned about mindfulness and Indian culture through yoga!

This week, the children celebrated International Nurses Day by caring for their dolls as little nurses. They dressed in uniforms, made beds, and gently used bandages to "nurse" their dolls back to health. The children learned about the kindness and compassion nurses show every day, and enjoyed pretending to be caring healthcare heroes. It was a wonderful day filled with empathy, teamwork, and lots of nurturing!
This week at the nursery, we celebrated Donut Week! The children had a wonderful time decorating a large cardboard donut using glitter, colourful papers, and tissue paper. They enjoyed expressing their creativity and making their donuts sparkle and shine. The activity was filled with fun, laughter, and lots of colorful designs, helping the children learn about celebration and sharing joy through art!

Our little explorers went on an exciting excursion to the National Portrait Gallery. They explored a variety of beautiful portraits, observing the different expressions and details in each artwork. During the visit, we talked about feelings and emotions depicted in the portraits, learning how art can show how people feel. The children enjoyed sharing their thoughts and discovering the stories behind the faces, making it a fun and educational experience about feelings and self expression through art!
This week, our preschoolers continued discovering India and its rich cultural heritage, developing their understanding of the world through activities, arts and crafts, stories, and traditional customs.
The Pre-schoolers had a session in French continuing practicing “Bonjour” and “Comment ça va?” They continue on their previous learning through learning games and puppets, and songs and stories, they also got to explore ‘magic words’ like thank you and please in French. They sang the “Bonjour, Bonjour! - Alain le lait” song and did the dance with increasing confidence. They also started on presenting themselves by saying “je m’appelle …”as they extended on their learning from last week. Using a game with mirror to enhance their understanding of greeting and meeting conversation in another language. We also introduced the Bengali alphabet, inviting children to take part in a mark-making activity inspired by the elegant script. As children engaged in recreation of beautiful narks with yellow and golden paint it supported their early literacy development and encouraged curiosity about different languages and forms of communication.

Children had opportunity to explore the dressed elephants that can be seen in India, elephants are often decorated and dressed for festivals and celebrations. Elephant regalia describes the traditional decorations worn by the elephants for the special occasion. Children looked through pictures how elephants are dressed in jewellery, headgear and decorative items. Indian mythology elephants have a prominence as they were associated with many different gods. The children expressed their creativity by decorating their own paper elephants, engaging their fine motor skills and sense of pattern and design.
Through amazing and engaging stories and books children explored some Hindu gods and its significance in Hindu culture and religion. Children were introduced some of the key figures from Hindu mythology. Through storytelling and discussion, the children learned about gods and goddesses such as Ganesha, Lakshmi, and Krishna. These stories sparked thoughtful questions and encouraged the children to compare traditions, understand symbols, and engage in respectful curiosity about different beliefs.
As well as focusing on India this month we are also learning about farming and agriculture. In an engaging session, we began to learn about farming, with a focus on the different types of farms and the produce that comes from them. Through storytelling and hands-on exploration, sorting games and flip books, the children developed their understanding of food origins (such as milk- drinking milk, yoghurt, cheeses etc.) through providing our preschoolers this learning opportunities we focused on promoting early science and environmental awareness, they even continued to include their knowledge in their independent play as they ‘milked a cow’ during a role play.
As part of our STEAM learning, the children turned into little designers once again, they looked at the technology sewing pattern of different parts of sari, explored the textures and materials used to make saris, from soft cottons to shimmering silks. They examined patterns and decorative elements, learning how textiles can tell stories and be used to express yourself. Using fabric scraps, sequins, and decorative textiles, the children designed their own sari patterns onto a sewing pattern piece, developing their fine motor skills, pattern recognition, and artistic expression.

Our highlight of the week was our visit to the National Portrait Gallery, where the children observed a variety of portraits and discussed what these artworks might tell us about the people depicted as they reflected on expressions, clothing, and backgrounds in the portraits. To bring the art to life for children we payed a have when children are looking for a particular object or an expression in the painting, such as guitar, hat, worried face, grumpy face etc. Children had a wonderful time in the gallery and even enjoyed some music at the Trafalgar Square in the sunshine.
Miss Molly’s yoga and mindful exercises is something our children always look forward to. Children took turns with different poses and body movements, exploring their movements and possibilities of their bodies as well as learning how to decompress and relax to calm their brain.
With coach Terry preschoolers focused on developing their fundamental physical skills, with focus on balance agility and coordination through variety physical games, one of their favourite to be little fish hiding from crocodile, practicing their reaction and attention to their environment.
