Why it matters
We go beyond childcare. We are early years developmental specialists.
At Hatching Dragons, we have built everything — our environments, our curriculum, our family partnerships, our daily rhythms — around that single truth. We are not child carers. We are early years development specialists. We specialise in supporting young children through the critical stages of growth and development, equipping them not just for their next room, but for the world that follows.
Our people

Cenn John
Founder

Cenn John
Cenn founded Hatching Dragons in 2015 with a simple belief: children deserve an education that prepares them not only for school, but for the world they will inherit.
Having spent years living, studying and working internationally, Cenn experienced first-hand how language, culture and global perspectives can shape confidence, opportunity and understanding. Inspired by those experiences, he set out to create an early years model that would help children develop the cultural awareness, character and capability needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
Today, Cenn leads the Board and strategic growth of Hatching Dragons, overseeing the continued evolution of its educational approach. Under his leadership, the organisation has grown from a pioneering bilingual nursery into one of the UK's most distinctive early years education groups, working with leading universities, government stakeholders and industry partners to help shape the future of early childhood education.
As a parent himself, Cenn remains deeply committed to creating the kind of educational environment he would want for his own children: ambitious, nurturing, globally minded and centred on helping every child realise their potential.

What our specialists say
"Over the last five years, Hatching Dragons has not just been my workplace, but a space where my career has truly flourished. Having worked my way up from Deputy Manager to Nursery Manager, I have been fully supported at every milestone of my leadership journey. I look forward to continuing to elevate our high standards of early years care, empowering our educators, and providing an exceptional, inclusive foundation for our young children."
Ali Ali
Manager, City of London Nursery
"What I love most about working at Hatching Dragons is how much the leadership actually cares about us as individuals. They make sure we get the training and support we need to do our best work and keep improving. It's not just something they say. You really feel it day to day, and it makes a big difference. My favorite part of the day is going into the nursery and seeing how happy the kids are."
Drew Albertson
Operations & Strategy Lead
"Over the past three years, Hatching Dragons has given me a career path I couldn't have imagined when I started. I joined as a qualified Nursery Practitioner, moved up to Baby Room Leader and Third in Charge, then became Nursery Manager — and I now manage both our Canada Water and Westminster nurseries. Every step of that journey came with real support and trust from the team around me. What keeps me here is the people and the mission: knowing the work we do every day genuinely shapes children's earliest years."
