What happens if my child is ill at nursery or needs medicine?
Before we are able to administer any medication, we will ask you to complete the necessary consent forms. Whether a child can attend nursery while taking medication will be assessed on an individual basis. All medication given while your child is at nursery is carefully recorded, and we will ask you to sign to confirm you have been informed. Please note: Children should not attend nursery if they are experiencing sickness, diarrhoea, an infectious illness, or an unexplained rash. They will need to be symptom-free or cleared to return by a doctor before coming back.
If your child becomes unwell or is injured while at nursery, we may provide first aid, seek medical attention if necessary, or ask that your child be collected early. If we are unable to reach you, we will contact the next authorised person listed on your child’s records.
